Michael & Kelly Record Breakers in London

Michael Gilbert ran 2:48:31 in the London Marathon to smash the previous club record of 2:57:18 set 8 years ago! Michael finished 728th out of over 40,000 runners and took almost 16 minutes off his PB!
Kelly Mepham obliterated the previous female club record. She ran 3:08:28, beating the previous record of 3:27:27 set 12 years ago! She was the 145th woman out of the 15,322 women that finished!
Martin Lawrence also finished inside the old club record, running 2:56:06, knocking over 3 minutes off his previous best, and was 61st in his age category out of 2281 finishers.
Cheryl Trundle ran 3:33:10 and finished 3rd in her age category (FV60-64), just like she did last year!
Kirsty Millard found the last 10K very tough, and had to walk some of it, but still managed a great time of 3:37:15! She took over 5 minutes off her previous best, and that puts her 8th on the club records!
Mathew Cowell ran a quick debut marathon running 3:29:31. He says never again, but I’m sure once he’s forgot about all the pain, he’ll end up doing another one.
Westley Walker ran a PB of 3:34:24, Sarah Miller ran her best ever time with 4:31:27. Shirley Fowler did her quickest London Marathon running 4:17:27. Kevin Millard successfully completed his first marathon with 4:45:06. Rachel Darvill ran 3:45:35 which is a PB and ‘good for age’. Karen Martin, Sil Clay, Jill Bunch and Joanne Rosenwold also successfully completed the 26.2 mile course.

In the Blackpool Marathon Yusuf Firat flew round in a PB time of 3:16:45! This is an incredible 20 minutes faster than his previous best! He was very pleased to get a ‘good for age’ qualifying time for the London Marathon and he won his age category!

On Sunday, in the Hoohah Childerley 10K Michelle Brazier Gardner got a PB, and ran her fastest parkrun to date the day before! Karina Hunt also got a PB at Childerley and Terry Braverman ran his 100th 10K race!

Mike Freed, Barry Judge, Cherilyn Lane and Grace Judge ran the Vienna Half Marathon. Check the results out here:
