Many PB’s at Cambridge Kevin Henry Race

There were lot’s of good performances at the Kevin Henry 5K race in Cambridge last Thursday, including many PB’s despite the course appearing to be about 100metres too long! The mens team did well to finish 3rd team. Michael Gilbert led the way with another super quick run to finish 4th in 16:10. Next was Alex Smith who got a PB of 17:01 which is 4th best on the club records (This was Alex’s 9th PB this year just one away from the top of the PB league). Andrew Bell followed in 17:31. Then it was Peter Miller with 17:46 which is a PB and 8th best on the club records. Michael Dennison was next with 19:18 also a PB, and Mark White ran 19:25.
Our four fastest females were Kirsty Millard, Karen Martin, Vashti MacDonald-Clink (who got a 1 second PB!) and Shirley Fowler.
Also getting a 1 second PB, was Kevin Millard, who now has 10 for this year and goes joint top of the PB league with Tony Bacon. Jason and Clair Gale(45 seconds off!), Alison and Rob Goodwin, Carl Oldford and Emma Moss also got PB’s.
The day after many people raced again in the Wibbly Wobbly Log Jog, which was just short of 5 miles. Mark White finished 12th in 34:59 and was 3rd in his age category. Kirsty Millard finished in 38:36 and was first female under 40 to finish! Shirley Fowler ran 44:28 and was 3rd in her age category. Sirkka Love was 1st in her age category running 48:08. Michelle Brazier Gardner had a great run in 50:05 showing she is in PB form.
On Saturday Mat Bigley came first in the Walthamstow parkrun in 18:31. Tony Gooding came 6th in the Clacton parkrun 20:56.
On Sunday Terry Braverman ran the Cannock Chase 10K in 1:20:59 and was 2nd MV70.
