The PB League for 2017 has now ended. Kevin Millard finished top with 13 PB’s! He got his final PB to win the competition on Saturday, in Florida! He went under 20 minutes for 5K for the first time, and finished in 19:58 at the Clermont Waterfront parkrun, in 7th place!
Finishing 2nd in the league was Alex Smith with 12 PB’s. He got his final PB on Sunday in the Saffron Fast Five. He finished the 5 mile race in 29:08 in 7th place.
Alison Goodwin finished 3rd in the table with 10 PB’s. She got her final PB 25:43 at the 5K club time trial on Thursday. She also had a great run at the St Ed’s 10K on Sunday and would most likely have got another PB, but unfortunately was sent the wrong way and so didn’t complete the full 10K distance.
Shirley Fowler is getting really close to breaking 4 hours for the marathon. She ran 4:00:18 at the St Ed’s Marathon on Sunday knocking 3 minutes 10 seconds off her previous best! She was 3rd female and 1st in her age category!
Gemma Robyn Ann Evans got 2 PB’s last week! She took 46 seconds off her best time in the time trial to finish in 28:17. Then on Sunday took around 7 minutes off her half marathon time! She ran 2:29:54 in the St Ed’s Half.
Also getting a massive PB here was Josh Iron (2:20:35), taking an amazing 13 minutes off his previous best!
Steve Mason finished first in the club time trial in 18:22. First female was Vashti MacDonald-Clink in 23:26. Ioulian Iordanov 21:12, Carl Oldford 23:56, Steve Oglesby 24:08 (taking 1 min 40 secs off!) and Lynnette Garstang 32:25 all got PB’s. Paul J Sherritt showed a massive 2min 50sec improvement from last month!
Yusuf Firat, Theresa Jones and Amanda Freemantle all successfully completed the tough Beachy Head Marathon and Craig Ladley completed the St Ed’s Marathon.
Andy Quick ran the St Ed’s Half in 1:34:06.
At the Saffron Fast Five Steve Mason finished 6th in 29:00. Terry Braverman ran his quickest time of the year and was first MV70! Getting PB’s were: Lee Brown 32.25, Marc Benson 36:24 (by 2min15secs!), Clare Everitt 47:36 (by 2 minutes!). Sarah Stuppell completed her first race in 59:00 over 10 minutes quicker than her target!
