It’s time for the annual Santa Run 2017!
If you haven’t been before: its a mass club run with everyone in a Santa/festive costume!
The run is being held on Thursday 21st December (in place of usual club run). Everyone is welcome no matter your pace. This is a fun run! There will be a leader and a back runner to prevent anyone getting lost.
This year we are doing something a bit special. We are fundraising for the local charity REACH, specifically their Haverhill Foodbank project, which helps to provide for families in difficult situations. Our lovely member Henry Wilson is Project Director for REACH. Here is more info: https://www.reachhaverhill.org.uk/Groups/263290/Foodbank.aspx.
Therefore we are asking that anyone who takes part in the Santa Run to please donate £1 (or more if you wish) and to bring along a food donation for the foodbank. They are currently looking for:
Small jars of coffee, teabags, sugar, long-life juice, long-life milk, biscuits, tinned tomatoes, veg, meat, fish, fruit or sponge puddings (all tinned), instant mash or custard. (Please no baked beans! They have loads!)
The plan: meet at the Sports Centre at 6:45pm for a 7pm start. Donate your food items into the trolley at the Sports Centre and please let me have your donation. We will then take a big group photo (the Haverhill Echo would like to cover this for us) and then head off on the run which should be about 4 miles. We will finish in the Market Place at the Christmas tree for a final picture. Then a post run pint in the Drabbet Smock.
Please do come along for a great social run in aid of a worthy cause!! See you there!!
