It was a very successful first 5K time trial of the year on Thursday, with 6 runners getting PB’s!
First in was Michael Gilbert in 17:21 and first lady was Ann-Louise Salt in 22:07. This time puts Ann-Louise 9th in the club time trial records.
Marc Benson was 8th and got a PB of 21:13. Twelve year old Angus Duckworth-Smith took over a minute off his PB to finish in 12th place in 22:22! Kristina Bright took 1:27 off her previous best to record 27:07! This is Kristina’s 2nd PB of the year already, and she now joins Christine Taylor at the top of the PB league.
Nicola Edmead knocked about a minute off her PB, running 29:16. Sarah Stuppell improved her 5K time by 54 seconds recording a time of 36:15. Emma Louise Brown showed a massive improvement from the last time trial, she was 1:43 quicker this time!
Adam Everitt came very close to his PB, missing it by just 1 second! Ian Elden ran his quickest 5K for over a year 19:30.
On Sunday Yusuf Firat and Josh Iron took part in the Lee Valley Velodrome 10mile race. Yusuf was 2nd in his age category and 18th overall finishing in 1:14:37. Josh came 134th in 2:02:04.
On Saturday we had a lot of members parkrunning. Paul James Game was 2nd at the Clacton parkrun 20:19. Tony Bacon was 2nd at the Clare parkrun 18:36. Michael Dennison was 6th 19:35 and Daniel Heath PT was 7th 19:49. Nigel Chapman was first in his age category 24:52. Christine Taylor was 7th female 26:49 and Alison Goodwin was 10th female 27:20.
