Gilbert & Mason run for Suffolk

Michael Gilbert and Steve Mason ran for Suffolk in the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships in a very muddy Loughborough. They did very well running against the best runners in the country, with international runners such as Andy Vernon running. Michael was 2nd counter for Suffolk in 157th place. Steve was 3rd counter for Suffolk in 199th place out of 284 finishers.
Sil Clay and Sirkka Love made the long trip to Fritton Lake to compete in the Suffolk Winter League Cross Country Race. Sil Clay on day 72 of consecutive runs, finished 8th in her age group. Sirrka finished 3rd in her age group.
Tony Bacon came 2nd in the Haverhill 10K in 39:32. James Stubbs was 12th with a new PB of 43:56. Kirsty Millard was 4th female 49:34. Rachel Darvill ran her first 10K and was first FV40 51:07. Teresa Franklin was 2nd FV50 53:51. Jo Hammond got a 10 second PB 59:01. Clair Gale ran 1:02:38, a whopping 6 minutes off her previous best! Kristina Bright ran her first 10K race 1:00:26.
In the Haverhill Half Marathon, Andy Quick ran a great time of 1:25:54. He was 4th overall, 1st MV40 and took 58 seconds off his previous best! PB King Kevin Millard got his 2nd PB of the year and took a big chunk off his previous best (2min44secs!) to finish in 1:38:21. Ellen Williams got her 3rd PB of the year and is now joint top of the PB league. She incredibly took 8 minutes off her Cambridge time!! She finished in 2:06:01. Michael Dennison ran 1:35:21 on his debut half and finished 13th!
Shirley Fowler and Horace Shuriah ran in the Haverhill Marathon. Shirley finished in 3:58:14, and was 2nd in her age group, 5th lady and 14th overall out of 35 finishers. Horace was 28th in 4:51:01.
In the Haverhill Fun Run, Adam Everitt finished 4th, out of 50 finishers!
The clubs weren’t listed in the Haverhill Running Festival Results, so apologies if I have missed you out. If you want to be listed in the results let me know your name, race distance and time.
At least 20 members took part in the first Haverhill parkrun! Alex Smith came in first place on a very muddy course in 19:55. Sandra Hiscox was first in her age group 35:06.
