It’s been another week of lots of PB’s for Haverhill Running Club, with many people getting their first of the year and making their first appearance on the PB league.
Most of the PB’s were set at the club time trial last Thursday night, where 10 members got PB’s!
Kelly Mepham had a great run in her first club time trial. She set a new PB and broke the ladies all comers record for the time trial course! She ran 19:07, and is now planning on going under 19 minutes! Kelly finished 2nd overall, with Charlie Hall coming in first in 18:53.
Luke Withers ran a PB of 21:25 beating his previous best by 10 seconds. Craig Ladley knocked 32 seconds off his previous best set in May last year, to record 23:02. Steve Oglesby was just behind in 23:09, taking 44 seconds off his best. That was his 4th PB of the year and is now in the top 8 of the PB league. Kristina Bright ran 25:35 taking 28 seconds off her best. She is now clear in 2nd place in the PB league with 7. Charlotte Denley took 21 seconds off her best to record 28:08. Danielle Pettiford showed great improvement taking 1:38 off her previous best! She just made it under 30 minutes running 29:59. Kellie Garrod also took a big chunk off, she ran 32:27 which was almost a minute quicker than her previous best! Jemma Benson went even better, taking over 2 minutes off her best to record 33:06! Gina Hickey ran 35:44 improving her best by 11 seconds.
In the Kirton Friday 5 Mile race, Westley Walker had a good run. He finished in 47th place running 31:01, just 3 seconds outside his PB. Running 47:08, PB league leader Josh Iron, carried on his incredible form by running another PB his 9th of the year!
On Saturday Yusuf Firat had a good run in the Olympic Park 10K. He was first in his age category MV50, running 42:37.
In the Lowestoft parkrun Sirkka Love ran her best time since April last year, 24:14. She was first in her age category and recorded the best WAVA score overall, an amazing 82.39% !
Chris Hawkins came 3rd at Clare Castle parkrun 19:39. Vashti MacDonald-Clink was 2nd female at Clare 23:03.
Michael Gilbert ran a new course record at the Haverhill parkrun 16:38. Luke Withers got his 2nd PB of the week, this time taking a second off 21:24. Jo Johnson ran 31:30 at Haverhill, an improvement of 30 seconds.
Youngster Dougie Millard got a new PB at the Bakewell parkrun 32:44.
At Great Notley park run Jan Walker took 45 seconds off her best, 34:53.
