Bad conditions, and bad ankle can’t stop Percy!

David Percy was our first runner to finish the very wet Great Eastern Run Half Marathon, in Peterborough. He finished in a PB time of 1:27:47 in 235th place, despite running with a bad ankle which he had twisted earlier in the week! Simba was not far behind in 251st place 1:28:34. Kelly Mepham had leg problems, but still managed to put in a good performance to finish 37th woman in 1:31:19. Yusuf Firat had a great run finishing in 1:32:59 and was 9th MV55! Cheryl Trundle was 1st FV65 1:45:31. Karen Martin has improved loads in the past few weeks, she ran 1:48:14, almost 12 minutes quicker than she ran 6 weeks ago! Steve Oglesby got his 15th PB of the year, to go equal top again of the PB league! He ran 1:54:51 taking nearly 6 minutes off his previous best! Polly Wells got a 1:56:30 PB.
In sunny Great Yarmouth Daniel Everitt & Maria Reed helped Bryn Stuppell to a massive 10K PB. He ran 59:16, over 6 minutes quicker than his previous best! Bryn and David Percy are now joint 3rd on the PB league with 10.
Joan Nevin took part in the Bedford Sprint Duathlon in heavy rain and blustery conditions, and she finished 1st FV65! Brigitte Heard took part in the standard distance Duathlon and was pleased to beat her last duathlon time which was done in better conditions.
New junior member Ben Phillips had a great debut in the Haverhill parkrun. He was 4th in 21:00 and he is only 12! Fellow junior Charlotte Hulyer also had a good run getting a new PB of 29:28. Freya Rootes ran her first 5K 29:34.
Tony Bacon after a few weeks rest, came 1st in the Haverhill parkrun 19:44. Jackie Westrope was 2nd female 26:36. Tracy Quarrell was 1st again 24:24, at her first run at the Clare parkrun.
Terry Braverman ran his 358th parkrun at the new parkrun in Cambridge at Coldham’s Common.
