London Marathon and summer time trial see great results!

The change to the summer route for time trial certainly put a spin in people’s step last week! There were so many PB’s! People knocking time off their previous 5K were: Stacey Anne Hall, Cheryl Eden, Clare Everitt, Gina Hickey, Lisa Haworth, Denise Tarrant, Karina Hunt (who broke 30 minutes for the first time – well done!), Alison Goodwin, Tony Gooding, Keeley White, Mel Mansfield, Mandy Wilson, Sara Hammett-Ridsdale, Sarah Camfield, Mark Phillips, Ben Phillips, Sarah Louise, Rhiannon Marie, Jamie Randall, Tracy Quarrell, Danielle Pettiford and Kirsten Bagley!!

Sally Johnston celebrated a big milestone this week at Haverhill parkrun. It was a year since she walked her first ever parkrun! This year she ran it in 32:31 which was a new PB and the cherry on the top! Well done Sally – what a brilliant year! At the same event Sarah and Paul Murkin both ran their 50th park runs and both finished first! Great way to celebrate! Bryn Stuppell got a new 5K PB at Clare. Chris Hall represented HRC in Cardiff at their parkrun. Cherilyn Lane ran a parkrun in Clare Valley this week – which is a little further than our Clare, about 10,300 miles in fact!

Twelve runners headed down along with a coach load of HRC supporters to run the London marathon this week. First HRC home was Fiona Tideswell who ran an amazing race, finishing in 3:13:58 which puts her 2nd on the HRC club records and gets her a championship place for next year! Pat Casey got a PB finishing in 4:28:28. Lisa Harling made her marathon debut and achieved her sub-5 goal with plenty of time to spare! Andrew Gage also ran his first marathon after all the hard week he has put in over the past year (see the Haverhill Echo’s report) and finished in an awesome 4:28:12. Craig Sisson managed a 34 second PB despite rather painful looking cramp at the end! Rachel Darvil managed to come in under 4 hours! Shirley Fowler made this race her 80th marathon whilst Martin Lawrence had a great run and supported fellow HRC runner Craig over the finish. Jackie Dockerill ran her 50th marathon. Fran Williams also ran and had an amazing time running for act!onaid. Daryl Buckley and Charlotte Westrope also ran, finishing strong with great results.

Ross Arnold, Chris Hawkins and Liam Connaughton ventured off road to take part in the popular HooHaah series, this one at Childerley Hall.
