A HRC contingent headed over to the Waterbeach Running Festival this week and had some great runs. There were a few PBs including one for Liam Connaughton, Keeley White (Under the hour for the first time!!), Tracy Lane, Clare Everitt (5 minutes! Whoop!) and Sarah Louise.
A big event that happened last week was the Ipswich Twilight 5k. A slightly different 5k for our area which has wave start times and qualifying times required for certain waves. Peter Miller was able to enter the sub-20 males race and got a brilliant result of 16:03!! He will be under 16 minutes very soon we think! Well done! Westley Walker also broke a big barrier at the same event and managed a sub 18 minute 5k for the first time! A 16 second PB at this pace is pretty tough!
In the Colchester 10K Jamie Randall got a 10K PB, knocking 1 minute off his previous time and Karen Martin finished 4th Lady! Well done!
There were 5k PB, series and course bests all over the place recently – Danielle Pettiford claimed one, along with Liam Connaughton, Many Wilson, Freddie Millard (under 30 minutes now!!), Carl Oldford, Clare Everitt, Christine Taylor and Mark Phillips.
Katie Ditchman ran her furthest distance to date at Sawston Fun Run – 7.4k – not long until you do 10K!
A group of HRC went out to the scenic Halstead Marathon and were rewarded glorious sunshine and beautiful countryside along with a 2 minute PB for Tony Gooding!
Sirkka Love ran her quickest 10K for eight years at the first Henham Park Trail 10K – nice one Sirkka, off road is definitely your thing!
In a slightly different event, the Newmarket Duathlon, junior leader Bryan Rotes finished 1st MV50 following great performances in the 5K run, 22K cycle and 4K run! Great to see members competing across disciplines!
Louise Harris ran the Letchworth Greenway Challenge Half and took 8 minutes off her previous time – she will son be under the three hour marks. A brilliant achievement early in your running career!
