The Everitt family continue their PB streaks this week with PBs from Clare and Adam at the Sudbury Friday 5. Adam managed to run the 2K in less than 9 minutes for the first time (8m 56s) and Clare reduced her time by nearly two minutes! Sally Johnston knocked a whopping 9 minutes off her previous 5 mile time! Go Sally! Keeley White got a PB here also, along with Maria Reed, Jacqueline Hewitt and Lee Taylor. Cheryl Eden and Mark Phillips ran a 5 mile event for the first time and both had great runs. Westley Walker is currently 3rd in the MV40 category. HRC is currently 11th overall but this could change this week judging by the numbers we have signed up to the Bury event tonight! Exciting times!
The HRC juniors were out in force at Sudbury for the first time! Ben Phillips was in the trophies and came in 3rd place in 6:37! Tobin Sari was 6th, Peter Johnston 11th, George Noakes 21st closely followed by Jed Randall (22nd) and Ted Salt (24th). Sophie Russel was first female back for HRC (8:19, 38th) followed by Juliet Bigley in 45th, Adam Everitt (56th), Leonie Bevan (58th) and Kate Russell (68th). These brilliant results mean HRC juniors team are 8th out of 17 teams based on this event alone! The team sits higher than other clubs who have scored in all three races to date! Well done juniors!
Karina Hunt ran the Victoria Park 10K and Terry Braverman ran Stone 10K this week in under 70 minutes. Well done! We need to keep an eye on Terry and his park runs – he is very close to number 400!!!
This week all eyes are on the Bury Friday 5 this evening where we have lots of people entered and also remember it is the lovely Steeple Bumpstead 10K on Sunday where I am sure we will see lots of black and silver vests out!
