Felstead 10K and parkrun first ladies

It was a quieter week last week for running – winding down for the school holidays I expect!

A group of HRC ladies headed to Felstead for their undulating and hot 10K. Emma Williams grabbed a new PB of 1:00:22 – sub 60 minutes very soon I think! Cheryl Eden, Alison Smith, Charlotte Denley, Kellie Garrod and Gemma Evans all managed well in the heat and got a great bit of bling for their troubles!

A grand setting of the Olympic Stadium saw Gina Hickey, Nicola King, Char Green, Karina Hunt and Jo Rosenwald tackle the Inspired Women’s Couch to 5K. Gina unleashed one of her savage sprint finishes again – I saw this at Carver Barracks – love it!

There were HRC runners here there and everywhere this weekend at parkrun. Susie Covey was 2nd lady in Durham and Sara and Andy Hammett-Ridsdale both got PBs at Rother Valley. Naomi Shelmerdine and Terry Braverman had their usual spots at Cambridge. Terry has four runs to go before hitting 400 parkruns! Laura Brown ran in Long Eaton. Fiona Tideswell was First Lady at Brandon Country Park, eight runners headed to Clare and seven HRC were at the home parkrun where Nicki Davis finished First Lady!

Please be super careful running over the next few days! Hydrate! Suncream! Hat! (Or if you’re anything like me say ‘bugger that’ and hibernate next to a fan eating ice lollies).

It is our Kevin Henry event next week and we need as many runners as possible. We will also need the usual army of wonderful helpers so if you have a spouse, sibling, responsibly offspring or useful dog(!) please get in touch with Karen Martin!
