Our Kevin Henry race was a brilliant success again as always! Even with the testing first mile there were some brilliant performances. Our ladies team finished in first place (I think for the first time!) which is fantastic and we are sitting in second place! The juniors managed a 1,2,3 HRC finish in the junior race. Benji Darken finished first followed by Harry Holroyd and Tobin Sari. Juliet Bigley was 1st female back followed closely by Charlotte Hulyer in 2nd! Our junior runners made up 50% of the field and it was an all around success! There were some PBs on the course this year from Kevin Barker, Laura Brown Hall, Tracy Lane (under 30 minutes for the first time!) and Lisa Harling. Sally Johnston has shown her amazing running career over the past year by running the course 14 minutes faster than the practice last year! If my maths is right that means five minutes per mile quicker! Great to see Jo Hammond back running and in at the deep end with the Kedington course!
At parkrun there was a new PB and 1st in age category for Jamie Randall. Kristina Bright was 2nd lady and 1st in age category with a parkrun best. Alison Smith also managed a course best at Haverhill. Nicki Davis was First Lady to finish at Haverhill parkrun.
Some runners tried out longer distances for the first time – Carl Oldford hit 19 miles and Graeme Johnston swapped shoes for tyres and participated in the 100 mile Ride London event.
