PBs at HRC handicap

Lots of different runs and events this week!

Congratulations to Laura Brown Hall who won the HRC annual 5 mile handicap time trial. A great event on a lovely evening! There were some PBs too! Sarah Camfield knocked over a minute off her previous 5 mile time getting a new PB of 46:14. Cheryl Eden also celebrated a PB, as did Jemma Benson whose new PB is now 53:45. Dionne Walford smashed her predicted time by a minute and a half and got a new PB. Alison Goodwin is absolutely on fire at the moment and got a 10 MINUTE PB. Her previous 5 mile time was 45:41 and at the handicap she finished in 35:57! At the Bedford Twilight 10K she also got a new PB of over two minutes – 47:14!

Over at the Bedford Running Festival Michelle Brazier Gardner decided that one race wasn’t enough, neither was two so she did three instead! She ran the 5K, 10K and half marathon and managed to get a 10K PB in the process. Michelle was one of 73 people to do this out of thousands who ran over the weekend! The bling definitely looks like it was worth the effort! Great to see Grace Judge back from injury who ran the half with Jo Rosenwold. Alison Smith and Suz Carter-White both ran in the 10K and then had a go at a mud run the following day – I spy two new recruits for this years XC season? What do you think ladies?

At the regular Barrow events Kristina Bright finished 1st Lady in the trail 5K and Ian Elden was 1st male but in some funny looking orange vest…..;)

Jamie Randall also got himself another PB by knocking nearly five minutes off his previous half marathon time. Going down from 1:39:37 to 1:34:45 – his training and dedication has paid off! Shirley Fowler and Jackie Dockerill were out on the marathon trail again – this time at Dunstable Downs. How many marathons now?

Christine Taylor got a new PB at Haverhill parkrun. Rob and Alison Goodwin and Ross Arnold took advantage of their trip to Bedford and ran Bedford parkrun together. Charlotte Denley did some tourism in the Midlands at Shipley Country parkrun. Kristina did Maldon Prom , Cheryl Davis went to Lowestoft and Nicki Davis went all the way north to finish 3rd lady at Fell Foot parkrun. As usual HRC had strong turnouts at the local events, especially our home parkrun and Clare Castle.
