Thursday time trial to Tissington Trails….

HRC time trial is always a great event and has some great performances! This one did not disappoint! Danielle Pettiford got a new PB of 1:27 and went under 26 minutes for the first time. Junior runner Peter Johnston is edging ever closer to sub 20 for a 5K – his new PB now stands at 20:17! Peter’s mum Sally also got another 5K PB of 30:29. Robert Wigmore also improved on his very recent 5K PB and finished with 26:36 and Kellie Garrod was not far behind him with her new PB of 26:45. Vanessa Hardy shaved 1:02 off her previous 5K time for a new PB of 33:13. Lisa Harling got a massive PB of nearly 5 minutes! Her new 5K time is 28:48. Daniel Pelling got a course best finishing in 20:53.

Kirsty Jones, Gemma Churcher, Kathy Dew and Vanessa Hardy had the kids out getting active in the Bubble Rush, Saffron Walden in aid of EACH. Looks like everyone had a brilliant time getting a bit messy.

At Haverhill parkrun Sarah Harris got a new PB – sub 30 minutes for a 5K! She finished in 29:57. AN amazing achievement, Sarah is a HRC beginners graduate and I distinctly remember her telling me a few times she hated running but I think its safe to say that isn’t the case anymore! :). Grace Judge made her Haverhill parkrun debut and was 3rd lady and 1st in her age category!

At Clare Castle young runner Gracie Thompson made a massive improvement on her previous recorded time at Clare – 51:10 down to 37:26! Well done!

At Whiteley parkrun Fiona Tideswell finished first lady and was tenth overall out of 251 runners. Alison Goodwin’s hardwork is still paying off as she got herself the First Lady position at Clare Castle this week in a time of 23:52.

There were a few half marathoners out this weekend. Ross Arnold ran Stowmarket Half which we all very much care about!! 😉 Christine Taylor is only 20 seconds away from a sub-2hr half. It won’t be long now! A Sandra Hiscox, Jo Vickery, Teresa Franklin, Bev Reynolds and Meghan Batchelor travelled up to Derbyshire for the picturesque Tissington Trail Half. Jo Vickery got her time down by 2 minutes 56 and Teresa Franklin got herself a new PB of 1:47:36 after 3 years of hard work! She was also first in her age category! Sandra Hiscox was fourth in her age category. Dawn Dixon, Graham Dixon, Helen Spooner, James Briggs, Courtney Firman and Jordan Barfield all trekked up to Glasgow and did the Great Scottish Run

The resident regular marathon crew Shirley Fowler and Jackie Dockerill ran the Ely Monster Marathon at the Ely Running Festival. Fellow regular marathoner Michelle Brazier Gardner ran in nicer weather at the Budapest Marathon!
