Top 20 finish for Dave

Carver Barracks was host to a slightly longer event than we are used to last weekend. The Remembrance runs saw a good number of HRC taking part. Chris Hawkins flew the HRC flag in the half marathon and finished in an impressive 8th position in a time of 1:28:41 and was also 2nd in his M50 age category. Kathy Dew ran the 5k and finished in 31:06 and James Cutting made his 5K debut. In the 10K Rhiannon Beal was first HRC lady back in 53:13. She was followed by Emma Williams who got an awesome new PB of 54:54 and then Alison Smith who smashed her target of a sub60 10K by finishing in 58:44. Tracy Lane, Jacqueline Hewitt, Suz Carter-White and Gina Hickey all also ran.

Going up one mile from the 10K was the ever popular Stowmarket Scenic 7. Cheryl Trundle picked up another trophy for the mantlepiece by finishing 1st in the FV65+ age category. Dave Percy has been putting in the training and it certainly paid off in this event. He was 20th overall and finished in 44:33! This gave him his highest WAVA score of the year – 77.6%. Trev Bunch was close behind in 44:50. Michelle Seymour, Daniel Pelling, Tracy Quarrell, Luke Withers and Bryn Stuppell all raced this distance for the first time. Teresa Franklin got a new PB and finished 3rd FV55. Grace Judge also got a new PB by 1:30. Mary Ann Tuli had a great run and finished in 55:10. Ross Arnold, Jo Vickery, Lee Taylor, Naomi Shelmerdine were all also out running for HRC.

Adding on some more miles now to the Stebbing 10 Miler. This is always a popular event and sells out quick. First back for HRC was Craig Sisson in 1:08, closely followed by Lee Brown who got a new 10 mile PB of 1:08:14. Graham Dixon and Dan Knight finished together in 1:21:40 and 1:21:41. Clare Everitt was first HRC lady home with a huge new 7 minute PB of 1:30:36. Husband Dan finished with her also getting a five minute PB to finish in 1:30:37. Mel Mansfield got a new 10 mile PB of 1:35:47. Charlotte Denley finished in 1:41:18 and Theresa Jones and Fran Williams ran together and finished din 1:42:42. Kellie Garrod finished close behind in 1:42:49. Another joint finish came from Jordan Barfield and Wendy Aldhouse followed by Gemma Evans. 

Terry Braverman changed pace this week and did a 5 mile race walk in 64:02! Shirley, SIl and Jackie did another marathon – this time they headed to Walton on Thames.

At parkrun Lee Anderson got a new parkrun best of 22:46 which is over minute faster than his previous ious parkrun best. Becca Dodd also got a parkrun best. Russell Docking improved his parkrun time by 14 seconds to finish in 23:17.
