After a two year gap where we could only hold a virtual event it’s back!
The Ekiden Relay Event will be held on Sunday, 7th August at Woodbridge School, Woodbridge IP12 4JH www.woodbridge.suffolk.sch.uk/ The Junior race will start at 9.30am and the seniors will set off once that has finished, approximately 10.20am.
The event is 26.2 miles run by teams of six as a relay. Each lap is an accurately measured 2.5k – run mainly on grass with teams of 6 runners, minimum age 16. Stage distances are: leg 1 – 7.2k – 3 laps; leg 2 – 5k – 2 laps; leg 3 – 10k – 4 laps; leg 4 – 5k- 2 laps; leg 5 – 10k – 4 laps ; leg 6 – 5k 2 laps. It is a fantastic social event and lovely to bring a picnic to whilst cheering on our teams!
Haverhill Running Club are covering the cost of entry for this event this year. Team entries are open now and they do get subscribed heavily so we need to move quickly on getting teams established.
To take part please complete the form at the bottom of this post BUT only complete it if you are committed to enter the event. In case you have to pull out then it is your responsibility to ensure the place is filled so as not to jeopardise the entry for the whole team.
