There has been some great running reported over the last few weeks, PB’s and some awesome personal achievements.
Shirley Fowler completed her mind boggling number 161 marathon in sunny Lanzarote in a very respectable 4.15.50 and most importantly without pain. I just wonder how long it will take her to hit 200?!
Also running marathons in the sun was Fiona Tideswell running NYC marathon in 3.40. I hope your toenails have forgiven you or at least departed peacefully by now!
Ethan Bright running with Amalie continued his great park run winning form with a 1st place MU11 after winning MU9 last year.
Rhiannon Marie took 32 seconds off her 10k PB course at Abbington, and congratulations to Silke Sheppard who won her age group at Salcey Forest 10k.
Steve Husband’s continued development gave him a new 5k PB at time trial, an amazing 18.12. I’m sure the next year will see even more improvements!
As important as race wins and pb’s its great to see Sally Johnston and Dave Greenham coming back from injuries, Sally completing the time trial in under 40 mins and Dave managing some running whilst marshalling, long may the recovery continue!
Last but not least, I managed a freezing cold marathon PB at Sikhs in the City Dawn till Dusk ultra, knocking 7 mins off my marathon and 53 mins off my 50k PB. I personally think I also should have got the prize in a heavily contested field for the most ice collected in a beard whilst running – it took a lot of self control to not brush it off as it was forming!
Now the snow is melting and it hopefully will be safe to get back on the roads do people have any running events planned over the Christmas period?
Nice note Andrew!
