Last week was all about the 5K!
An amazing 96 people ran the HRC time trial which also saw the latest group of beginners completing their 5K challenge – an amazing achievement for all involved, well done! Fantastic turnout everyone and thanks as always to the organisers and helpers!
Lots of people got PBs at the 5K distance including Graeme Johnston, Jemma Benson, Cheryl Eden, Mandy Wilson, Tracy Lane, The whole Everitt family, Kirstin Bagley, Kellie Garrod, Alison Clark, Riss Arnold, Paul Murkin, Charlotte Denley, Bryn Stuppell, Becca Winter, Sara Hammett-Ridsdale and Dave Percy!! Karen Martin smashed her PB and added another entry to the club records! Her new 5k time puts her in 5th position with 20:32!
Some brilliant parkrun results this week with Trev Bunch finishing in first place at Haverhill with a blistering time of 18:12 to set himself a new PB in the process. Paul Murkin got his second PB of the week at 5K by knocking almost twenty seconds off a sub 19 minute time and finishing in 2nd place. Shirley Fowler finished in 2nd lady position by only 1 second and was 1st in her age category!
Peter Miller had a spot of parkrun tourism in Gloucester and finished in 2nd position with an amazing time of 16:48, only five seconds behind 1st place! Louise Thompson was in Bradford. Jamie Randall got a Clare Castle PB and Kevin Jamieson got a PB here too. Terry Braverman was in Stafford for his 382nd parkrun!
This week we will hopefully see plenty of fab results from the Haversports Festival of Running and quite a few members are heading ooop north for the Manchester marathon and half marathon. Good luck everyone!
