The Grand Prix Series is intended as an added incentive to run in local races and have some fun at the same time.
To make things easier this year and to allow everyone a chance of completing the required number, more races have been added to this year’s list. There will also be regular updates throughout the season.
The GP uses the WAVA age grading system click here and has races over different distances and terrain, it is the true leveller of ability – being just the fastest does not win the GP!
We will be awarding 10 Bonus points for every time you represent the club at a Kevin Henry race. This will give you the opportunity to gain a lofty 60 points should you run all 6 Kevin Henry races. These bonus points will be calculated at the end and added to the final table.
Please also note the format has changed. We have a lot of runners who take part in the Suffolk Grand Prix, and this I have included all 7 Suffolk Grand Prix Races and have added 7 local races which make up the Haverhill Championship.
Your top 7 scores will count and you can achieve this 7 races by any means possible out of the 14 on offer.
Please note there are no Bonus Races, only the 14 in question will count, the Haverhill parkrun and Time Trial make 2 of the 14 events though which should make it nice and easy for you to get 2 on the board without applying much effort. You can do these whenever you like and as often as you like just let me know when you have done them and give me your time and i will work out your score and upload your results. If you beat your score in either parkrun or Time Trial throughout the year i will simply update your score.
Paid races Scores will be added to the table soon after the results are published to the website and the current top 10 places on Facebook after every races and post the Full updated table to the here at the end of every calendar month and send by email as a newsletter so everyone is kept updated.
Please note this is only open to 1st claim members, of people who are registered to the club from 1st January 2019, and the top 3 males and females will receive a trophy with the Top 10 males and females picking up a Boxed Medal.
Rules and eligible races are listed below.
Good luck
Tony Bacon
