Winter Route 6

Full route (6.1 miles)

  1. From LC go up ramp and TL onto railway walk
  2. Proceed along railway walk, across Tesco bridge to Howe Road
  3. Cross Howe Road and continue past skate park, bearing R over small bridge, then L
  4. Continue to end bearing R then TL over bridge and continue to end of path 
  5. At end of path cross the road and TL towards roundabout
  6. At roundabout take second exit towards Sainsburys, cross the road, and run on LHS of road
  7. Cross Park Road and continue toward Sainsbury’s
  8. At the roundabout after Sainsbury’s cross the road and take the second exit into Hanchett End
  9. After about 300m TL onto footpath
  10. Keep R and follow the footpath along the hedge line and behind the houses to bring you out onto Mellis Close
  11. Follow Mellis Close round to R and onto Notley Drive
  12. After Hopton Rise (on R) TR onto footpath and continue to end, crossing Hovesley Ave enroute
  13. Follow the footpath round to L and cross Bergamot Road
  14. Continue to follow footpath (Pearmain Walk) across the estate
  15. At the end of the footpath, cross Chilmswell Way and TR to run alongside playing fields
  16. At roundabout TL onto Chivers Road, then immediately L onto footpath just before houses
  17. Follow the footpath to the end, then TR along the footpath behind the Rugby Club, and down into School Lane
  18. At junction with Burton End TL then after Castle Ave and Burton Close cross the road and TR into Greenfield Way
  19. Follow Greenfields Way (steep hill) to end then TL at roundabout
  20. Continue past school and doctors’ office (on R) to end of road then TR down Duddery Hill
  21. TR onto Hollands Road and run all the way to the end
  22. At the T-junction TL into Bumpstead road then TL at the roundabout into Sturmer Road
  23. Follow the road all the way along to finish at the LC.

Cut-off route (4.3 miles)

  1. From LC go up ramp and TL onto railway walk
  2. Proceed along railway walk, across Tesco bridge to Howe Road

  4. Continue to end bearing R then TL over bridge and continue to end of path 
  5. At end of path cross the road and TL towards roundabout
  6. At roundabout take second exit towards Sainsburys, cross the road, and run on LHS of road
  7. Cross Park Road and continue toward Sainsbury’s
  8. After Sainsbury’s TL at roundabout then TR at next roundabout up Haycocks Road
  9. TR into Notley Drive then immediately TL onto footpath and continue to end, crossing Hovesley Ave enroute
  10. Follow the footpath round to L and cross Bergamot Road
  11. Continue to follow footpath (Pearmain Walk) across the estate
  12. At the end of the footpath, cross Chilmswell Way and TR to run alongside playing fields
  13. At roundabout TL onto Chivers Road, then immediately L onto footpath just before houses
  14. Follow the footpath to the end, then TR along the footpath behind the Rugby Club, and down into School Lane
  15. At junction with Burton End TL then follow the road all the way down (across roundabout) to market square (church on R)
  16. TR into Market hill and along the High Street past the shops
  17. TL down footpath alongside the LHS of Glasswells towards bus stops and car park
  18. At Ehringshausen Way cross the road and finish at LC.
