The Juniors combined with the JJs for an indoor games in the barn at Samuel Ward Academy. Christmas songs added to the fun and festive spirit. Many thanks to Tujan for organising the session and to the rest of the Junior Committee Team for helping to make it a success.

Thetford Grammar Cross XC – 24th November 2025
Marli was chosen to compete at the Thetford Grammar Cross country event. She ran 1.8km against 20 other girls in her U11 category at only 9 years old and did brilliantly to finish in 4th place. Well done Marli!
1 Mile Duxford Dash – 26th October 2025
Alycia competed in the Duxford Dash family mile on the airfield. She did really well with a time of 8:14.
Suffolk Winter League – Framlingham – 26th October 2025
Great cross-country running from the JJs in Framlingham. Abigail, Fern, Eleanor and Sam competed in the under 11 race. Teddy came 21st in under 13 race and Max 71st. Very well done all of those who took part.
Inter School Cross-Country Competition – 15th October 2025
Alycia competed in the local Inter School Cross-Country Competition as an individual (rather than a year group). She came 3rd in her Year 4 group and qualified for the next leg of the competition. Well done Alycia!
Junior Cross Country Relay – Ipswich Jaffa – 12th October 2025
Ipswich Jaffa hosted the junior cross-country team relay at Bourne Park on Sunday 12th October. It was a really fun event and our two JJ teams did brilliantly.

TCS Mini London Marathon – 26th April 2025
Congratulations to our two JJs who both took part in the Mini London Marathon. Emilia and Tom completed the 1 mile course around Buckingham Palace and the Royal Mile in 7:50 and 6:57 respectively.

3km Time Trial – 27th March 2025
Our first 3km TT for the JJs took place this month. The event started immediately after the club’s 5km TT event and followed the same out-and-back route, with an earlier turnaround point. Lots of JJs attended and they all made a fantastic effort. Well done to them and a big THANK YOU to all the parents and volunteers who helped to keep our younger athletes safe.
Anglian School’s Cross Country Championships – 15th March 2025
Very well done to Marli who was chosen to compete for Barnardiston school at the Anglian Prep School’s Cross Country Championships against 11 other schools. Out of 36 runners, she came an impressive 8th in the U9 category.

Amalie and Ethan attended Storeys Field parkrun and both achieved PBs. Amalie knocked 50 seconds off of her previous best, with a time of 31:38 and Ethan managed to knock 2 mins 4 seconds off of his, giving him a PB of 21:34. Amazing improvement from both. Well done!

Newmarket Heath Race 2024 – 2nd May 2024
Very well done to our racing JJ’s who took part in the Fun Run on the historic Newmarket Heath. Max and Ethan came finished in 11th and 12th place overall. Ethan was also joined by his little sister Amalie, who was also representing the club in her HRC vest. All wearing their medals with pride.

‘JJs’ U11 Section Up and Running
Our U11 section has been in place for a couple of months now and is proving to be the great success we all knew it would be. We currently have 14 fully signed up members, and lots more trialling.
The JJs usually train on a Thursday evening. Most of the sessions have been held indoors so far, due to the winter weather, but as things warm we’ll be heading outside to join the U18s on the fields and tracks around Samuel Ward Academy. The JJs had their first taster of this on Thursday 18th April, where a combined warm up session took place.
A big thank you to the JJs coaches who have recently undertaken additional EA and First Aid qualifications, Clare Everitt, Nicola King, Sil Clay and Vron Lewis. Special thanks to Tujan Sari too for all his coaching support and for the coordination of our equipment and facilities.
