Hey, just because it’s Christmas doesn’t mean we stop running, does it? To help give us the motivation we need to get out the door and work off the excess pounds, we’ve arranged some club runs over the festive period, which we hope will cater for all tastes and interests.
HRC Santa Run (21st December)
The Santa Run will take place on Thursday 21st December. Meeting outside the leisure centre at 6:30pm, we’ll run at a pace inclusive to all abilities, on a route which takes us by some of the best Christmas displays that Haverhill has to offer. We’ll finish in market square where there will be some Christmas treats waiting. So, come on, don your best Christmas gear and we will see you there!
Dog and Duck Trail Run (29th December)
If trail running is your thing, this one’s for you! Join us for a lovely trail run on Friday 29th December and get some fresh air and time away from the chaos! We’ll meet at the Dog and Duck in Linton and aim to set off at 11.30am as a single group – individual groups to cater for different paces will form naturally as we go along. Copies of the routes will be available on the day – there’s a 4.5 mile and a 7ish mile route, both incorporating lots of trails, footpaths and maybe some mud! We have some space booked in the pub from 12:30 to chill out and grab a drink after, so please bring clean shoes for the pub!! If you have any questions about the run, speak to Hayley Wilson at training.
Nearly New Year’s Eve Pub Run (30th December)
If you prefer a more solid surface to run on then why not join us on Saturday 30th December for a run around some lovely, quiet, gently undulating country lanes around Hundon? We’ll set off from the Plough Inn at Brockley Green at 11am in two groups – one group will cover the full route of around 7 miles, and the other group will cover a shorter route of 4 miles. See routes here. We’ll return to the pub for some refreshments but if you want to eat at the pub we would strongly recommend that you book directly with them in advance. If you have any questions about this run, please speak to Tracy Pelling, Mark Novels, or Alan Emery.
We look forward to seeing you over the festive period at one or more of these events, but if you don’t manage to tear yourself away from the sofa, have a wonderful Christmas and we’ll see you in 2024!
