The first of the 5k Summer Series will take place this Thursday (27th April). NOTE: This will be instead of the normal Thursday club run.
If you’re unfamiliar with these events, each club takes turn to host a 5k race, in which every runner counts no matter their placement. Every runner earns a point for their club. It’s also great fun, a nice opportunity to make new running friends from the other local clubs and, of course, improve your 5k time. Oh, and the best bit of all, it’s free – HRC covers the cost!
The first race in the series – a fast flat course – is being hosted by CTC & Tri and will take place at Chivers Farm, close to the Spire Lea hospital in Cambridge (post code CB24 9EL). The race starts at 7.30pm.
Parking is likely to be in the Vision Park (should be clearly signposted) but as there is limited parking car sharing is strongly advised. It’s about a 1km walk from the car park to the start, passing WCs in the park/rec enroute, which runners can use. Please do not park in the hospital car park, or use their facilities.
So, what have you got to lose? Come and enjoy the fun!
