On 29th October HRC will, for the first time, host Time Trial using the event timing feature in the ConnectMyClub App.
This feature is similar to how the parkrun system works in that we’ll record your time on the App and give you a barcoded finish token. We’ll then scan your token, along with your unique QR code from the App, which will allow us to match you with the recorded time.
Once all results have been checked you’ll get an e-mail confirming your result. A full list of results will also appear on the website as normal.
In preparation, please take the following actions:
- If you’re not on already on the App you will need to download and register onto it. You can find a link to the instructions HERE. If you don’t have the App, you will not be able to participate in the Time Trial. The same rule applies to guests.
- If you carry your mobile with you when you run you can display your unique QR code by simply clicking ‘QR Code’ at the bottom of the Welcome screen on the App, so that we can scan it.
- If you don’t carry your mobile when you run, you can print off the QR code and carry the printout with you instead. Click ‘QR Code’ at the bottom of the Welcome screen, then click ‘Download QR Code’, then open the document and print it. You might want to get your QR code laminated if you intend to re-use it, or you can simply print a new one off when you need it next time.
- If you want to receive a notification confirming your Time Trial result, make sure you have given permission for us to send you e-mails. From the side menu on the App, under ‘My Menu’, go to ‘Comms/GDPR’, then ‘GDPR’ and make sure the switch for e-mails is green and toggled to the right.
