Ok everyone here are the details for Sunday’s cross country event:
Date: Sunday 3rd November
Venue/HQ: Framlingham Sports Club, Badingham Road, IP13 9HS
Race Times and Approx. Distances:
Juniors (11-16): 10.40am, 2 miles.
Under 11’s: 10.42am, 800m.
Seniors (16+): 11am, 5 miles.
Fees: Seniors £5, Juniors free. Payable to team captain on the day (HRC don’t need to pay this only the coach cost if you’re on the bus)
Refreshments: We’ll have our usual tea and cake stall at race HQ.
Facilities: Full changing facilities with showers will be available. Please try to use the toilet facilities in the changing areas rather than those in the clubhouse as the clubhouse loos struggle to cope with a lot of people using them at once!
IMPORTANT INFO: Please note that as things stand at the moment, we won’t be able to park as many cars as usual at the Sports Club- the ground will be too wet and we can’t damage the football pitches. If this is still the case next week, we’ll take as many cars as we can but after that, folks will have to find alternative car parking arrangements in Framlingham and make their way up to the club on foot. There may be a chance of using some of the castle meadow where the races start and finish- I will let you know if this is an option.
Contact me with any questions. I’ll put this on the bus even page too.

Hi, Im Brinn – I have joined in with a couple of club runs and would like to join the club but have a few questions please. If I joined the club today and ordered a club vest, would I be allowed to run in this Sundays xc race in Framlingham? And if yes – Am I allowed to wear spikes? Kind regards – thank you – Brinn Spary.
Hi Brinn!
Great to hear you’ve decided to join us! Yes if you become a member and have a club top to run in you are more than welcome to join us on Sunday. Order your vest via the shop on the website and our member Mat who deals with kit should be able to get it to you in time. If not I can bring one for you Sunday. Yes the course is good for spikes. There’s a very short concrete section you do twice but lots of runners wear spikes for this race. If you email me at admin@haverhillrunningclub.com I ca answer any further questions you have! Looking forward to seeing you Sunday!
Thankyou very much , I have now joined the club, paid for the membership and ordered a medium club vest to my address. Im looking forward to the cross country race on sunday – Ive never done a race before, but Ive done a fair amount of parkruns and sometimes treat them as if its a race when I try for a pb, so I should be alright but I know im nowhere near fast enough to be competitive its more for the enjoyment 🙂 . Just incase My club vest does not arrive on time – it would be great if there was a spare vest for me to borrow just incase, Thankyou very much. Kind regards – Brinn 🙂
Ok Brinn. Great. Welcome to HRC! I will try and sort out a men’s medium as a back up. Do you want a seat on our coach that is going on Sunday? It’s £5 per person. Please join our Haverhill Running Club Members Facebook group for more updates. If you can make it to Tuesday training we have a xc session on at 6:30 at the leisure centre.
Hi, I probably cant make this Tuesdays xc training, but hopefully next time I can. I do not need a seat on the coach, as Ill drive up there & back – but thanks anyway, and yep I will join that facebook group :)Thanks very much for your help – Brinn.
