Dog and Duck Dash (short)

HRC Dog and Duck Dash self guided run

Short route (4.5ish miles)

Note: The route is not marshalled so please be responsible for your own safety and take extra care on all road sections.

This route crosses the A1307 twice, be patient whilst waiting to cross!

BL: Bear left        GP:  Grassy path            

SP: Signpost    

BR: Bear right      L: Left     TL: Turn left

BW: Bridleway LHFE: Left hand field edge         

TR: Turn right. R: Right 

FB: Footbridge   TK:  Track

Route

1: Head down lane alongside the pub and follow path past cricket pavilion on right and back of LVC on L.  Go through small double wooden G and follow GP SA through horse fields. TL at end up concrete drive. At gap in central reservation of A1307 X straight over towards Camgrain. TAKE CARE.

2: Please be careful of heavy machinery moving in Camgrain and stick to marked pathways. Follow the BW through Camgrain between the silos and onto TK, up and over the first hill. Approximately 50m up the next hill (NOTE: If you reach the summit of this hill you have gone too far!) at crossroads with GPs turn sharp L onto FP diagonally through middle of FD.  

3: At edge of field enter FP into next field and follow diagonally across the field up hill. TR at FP junction towards the top of the field and head for gap in hedge. Go through the gap and follow GP SA. At FC TL. Follow GP downhill and through G at bottom.

4: TL on RD. Follow RD and TR just before main RD onto Long Lane. TL at first junction in RD. X the main RD and go SA following RD (Mill Lane). Immediately before the ford TL onto GP. Follow GP with river on your R. At FC TR X FB – ignore other footbridges until you reach the FC and FB nearest the church.

5: At the crossroads near the church TL. Go through G and go SA over the FB. Follow Horn Lane round until you reach High Street. TR and head back down the High Street to the Dog and Duck.
